At Hamilton Nissan, we value your safety above all. As such, we are proud to offer one of America's safest line of vehicles. However, you don't have to take our word for it. Recently, four new Nissan models were named to the highly-coveted U.S. News' Safest Car List.

One of the key determining factors for making the list is information derived from major agencies, such as the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Let's take a closer look at the four Nissan sedans that made the U.S. News' Safest Car List. And if you would like to touch, experience, feel, and test drive any new Nissan model, the team at Hamilton Nissan can and will help. Read on for the four Nissan models that are on the U.S. News' Safest Car list.

The 2021 Nissan Versa

Even though the Nissan Versa is the most economical car on the list and one of the smallest, it earned a brilliant 9.5 out of 10 safety score. One of the reasons the Versa boasts such exceptional safety performance can be attributed to a healthy list of standard safety features, including:

  • Forward Collision Warning
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Rearview Camera
  • Pedestrian Detection
  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Automatic High Beams
  • And more

Because of these features and a host of other elements, the Versa posted moderate overlap front crash testing and the highest rating of "Good" by the IIHS. The sleek and stylish Nissan Versa also received five stars for side crash safety and overall safety by the NHTSA. As an added bonus, it received four stars for rollover safety and frontal crash safety.

The New 2021 Nissan Sentra

While the Nissan Sentra is relatively compact, it's big on safety. Wrapped in a sleek and attractive exterior, the Nissan Sentra ranks high on the list, which is even more attractive thanks to its stunning $20k price tag. Loaded with value, the Sentra offers drivers a spacious interior and an efficient 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that delivers an impressive 149 HP. And when it comes to safety, the Sentra truly shines with key features like:

  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Pedestrian Detection Warning
  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Driver Drowsiness Monitoring
  • Forward Collision Warning
  • Automatic High-Beam Headlights
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Blind Spot Monitoring
  • Rearview Camera

Because of this comprehensive suite of safety technology, the Nissan Sentra earned a near-perfect 9.6 out of 10 safety score on the list. At the same time, the IIHS named the Sentra a 2021 Top Safety Pick; while the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration bestowed a five-star overall safety rating.

The2021 Nissan Altima

The Nissan Altima is nothing short of exceptional! As one of the few mid-size sedans with an AWD drivetrain, the Altima delivers excellent performance with its VC-Turbo engine that pumps out up to 248/236 HP. The Altima's 15.4 cubic feet of cargo space, spacious cabin, and fuel-efficient engine lineup impresses at every turn.

But when it comes to safety, the Altima is in a class of its own. In fact, the 2021 Nissan Altima brought home the highest accolades from the IIHS by earning the Top Safety Pick+. This award is based on the Altima's remarkable crash test results and comprehensive collision avoidance features.

At the same time, this mid-size sedan earned a 9.6 out of 10 safety score as well as a five-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA.  Similar to every other Nissan, the Altima hosts a long list of standard safety features, including:

  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Driver Drowsiness Monitoring
  • Rearview Camera
  • Pedestrian Detection
  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Forward Collision Warning
  • Automatic High Beams
  • And more

The 2021 Nissan Maxima

The Nissan Maxima is a full-size sedan that leaves nothing to be desired. With dynamic lines, an aggressive stance, and a muscular appeal, the Maxima finished as runner-up on the U.S. News 2021 Best Large Car for Families list. As a true four-door sports sedan, the Maxima delivers blistering power to the tune of 300 HP. And to help drivers manage this remarkable power, the Maxima offers drivers a world-class selection of top-notch standard safety features, such as:

  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert

  • Pedestrian Detection
  • Rear Seat Alert
  • Blind Spot Monitoring
  • Rearview Camera
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Road Sign Recognition
  • Forward Collision Warning
